To check pending requests for your mailman list, you need to
get added to the sudoers file (a file which allows you to
execute commands as a super-user). Write to catgeek saying
that you want to use this command.
Once you have sudo access, type the following at the command
line.
$ sudo mailapprove listname
You will be asked for two passwords. The first is the sudo
password (your personal password) and the second is the list
password.
Some commands that can be executed once you are *in* are:
(Cmd) h will give you the help info, such as the long and
short forms of commands you can use. eg. d discard. You can
type help command like help d to find out more on this
command.
If you see mail you want to send to the list, type a <the
number of the message>
If you see it's all spam, you can type p This will throw it
all out never to be accessible again. At present, the p
command will not ask for confirmation, so be careful when
using it.
An example:
$sudo mailapprove somelist
$passwd <type your sudo password>
$passwd <type your list password>
(Cmd) list
Pending requests on somelist@lists.cat.org.au
